Bridges

Dental bridges literally 'bridge the gap' created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap, and a false tooth known as a pontic is suspended in the space between the crowns. This is permanently cemented and cannot be removed.

With a traditional bridge, healthy teeth on each side of the missing tooth are prepared for crowns.   The custom-made artificial tooth is fused to 2 crowns. This is called a bridge.

A bridge is permanent and cannot be removed.
