Crowns

A crown, often called a cap, is an artificial covering for the visible part of your tooth. Crowns are generally made of porcelain and metal. They are strong, long lasting and absolutely stunning in their recreation of your natural teeth. Crowns are usually recommended if a tooth is fractured, decayed, has a large restoration, or has been root canal treated, all of which make the tooth vulnerable to breaking.

A crown can be used to restore a damaged tooth.   To make room for the crown, your dentist files down the tooth to be restored.

The final crown is cemented into place. It looks and works very much like a natural tooth.
